The days of 6th and 7th of June 2018, trainings in the Horizon 2020 program in Science, Technology and Innovation of the European Commission were held in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
The day of 6th of June, a work session with the National Contact Points (NCP) was realized to inform about tasks within the program framework, as well as to offer support regarding calls, especially these directed at CELAC countries. Furthermore the activities for this year were planned together.
The remaining day was held a training open to researchers and companies working in a project of Horizon 2020.
This initiative was encouraged by the Secretary of Foreign Relations and International Cooperation in Honduras with the support of the Honduran Institute for Science, Technology and Innovation (IHCIETI) and the local Delegation of the European Commission.
The presentations were in charge of Soc. Mag. Claudia Romano, Coordinator of the Latin-American and Caribbean National Contact Point “LAC NCP Network” and Director of International Cooperation at the Ministry for Education and Culture (MEC) in Uruguay.
Representative appointments with several Universities, Research Centers and Business Associations from the whole country were being held.
This activity was carried out in order to strengthen the institutional capacities of organizations, researchers and companies regarding topics such as international cooperation and funding opportunities. We hope that these information days contribute to increase the participation of Honduran researchers in the Horizon 2020 program.
